Technical Diving Certification Course

PADI Tec 45 & Tec 45 Trimix

The PADI Tec 45 and Tec 45 Trimix Courses represent the intermediate level of technical diving.

Building on the skills learned in Tec 40, these courses are designed to prepare divers for deeper depths and more complex technical diving environments.

Through training in decompression stage diving, advanced equipment configuration, and the application of Trimix (helium-based breathing gases), divers progress into confident, capable intermediate-level technical divers.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is for divers who hold a PADI Tec 40 certification.

Applicants must have a minimum of 50 logged dives, including at least 12 dives using Enriched Air (EANx) and 6 dives deeper than 30 meters.

Participants must be healthy adults aged 18 or older.

Course Duration

The course is conducted over four training days.

Training includes theory sessions, confined-water training, and open-water technical dives.

Tec 45 and Tec 50 can be taken together to save both time and training costs.

What Will You Learn?

Tec 45 Core Training

You will learn how to safely conduct decompression dives to depths of up to 45 meters.

Training includes decompression procedures using a single high-oxygen decompression gas (EANx up to 100%).

You will develop advanced skills in technical equipment configuration and problem-solving.

The course also focuses on physical and mental preparation, long-duration dive management, and risk prevention strategies.

Tec 45 Trimix Additional Training

The Trimix option introduces the fundamental theory of Trimix (oxygen, nitrogen, and helium).

You will learn how to set, analyze, and manage different gas mixtures.

Training emphasizes reducing nitrogen narcosis through helium use and improving stability at depth.

You will also learn how to plan and execute decompression dives using Trimix.

What Do You Need to Bring?

A full technical diving setup is required, including twin cylinders, reels, SMBs, backup mask, decompression cylinder, and technical regulators.

You must also bring a dive computer, timer, gauges, and logbook.

Swimsuit and reef-safe sunscreen are required, along with your certifications and medical clearance.

Some equipment is available for rental, but certain items must be personally owned.

What Can You Do After Completion?

After completing Tec 45, you are qualified to conduct decompression dives to 45 meters using a single high-oxygen decompression gas.

You are eligible to progress to Tec 50 and Trimix Diver courses.

This level provides greater independence and confidence in managing technical diving equipment and procedures.

After completing Tec 45 Trimix, you are qualified to conduct advanced decompression dives using Trimix.

You may safely and comfortably dive deeper using multiple gas mixtures.

Graduates are eligible to progress to the Tec Trimix 65 Course.

This course marks a major step toward advanced technical and Trimix diving mastery.
