Who Is This Course For?

This course is designed for PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSI) or higher-level instructors.

Depending on the specialty, additional diving experience or prerequisites may apply. For example, Deep Diver Specialty Instructors must have a minimum of 10 logged deep dives.

It is ideal for instructors who want to teach confidently in their strongest areas, expand their instructional portfolio, and operate a wider range of courses at dive centers or resorts.

Course Duration

Each specialty typically requires half a day to one full day.

When enrolling in multiple specialties, schedules can be coordinated flexibly.

In most cases, five or more specialties can be completed consecutively within a focused training period.

What Will You Learn?

You will learn the structure and teaching methods for each selected specialty course.

Training covers environment-specific risks, safety considerations, and appropriate response strategies.

You will practice equipment use, skill demonstrations, and the creation of realistic teaching scenarios.

The course includes instruction on PADI-standard documentation, evaluation criteria, and quality control.

You will also gain insights into course marketing, student briefings, and efficient course operation.

What Do You Need to Prepare?

You must provide proof of your instructor certification.

Relevant experience or logged dives for the chosen specialty are required.

You should bring a swimsuit and reef-safe sunscreen.

Completion requires submission of the PADI Specialty Instructor application and payment of certification fees by credit card.

Some equipment may be rented, while certain specialty-specific items may need to be personally prepared.

What Can You Do After Completion?

You will be qualified to independently teach and certify the selected PADI Specialty courses.

Holding five or more Specialty Instructor ratings fulfills the requirement to apply for MSDT (Master Scuba Diver Trainer).

You can differentiate yourself by offering specialized professional training, not just recreational dives.

By operating a wider range of educational programs, you can expand income opportunities and strengthen your instructor career.
