Who Is This Course For?
This course is designed for experienced PADI instructors who are passionate about dive education.
Applicants must hold a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating or higher.
It is ideal for instructors who want to assist and evaluate IDC candidates, dive center owners or managers who want to improve instructional quality, and professionals aiming to progress toward PADI Course Director status.
Course Duration
The program typically runs for 4 to 5 days.
Training includes theory sessions, demonstration evaluations, presentation workshops, and direct participation in real IDC programs.
The course may be conducted as a standalone program or scheduled alongside an active IDC.
What Will You Learn?

What Do You Need to Prepare?
You must provide proof of your instructor certification at the MSDT level or higher.
The PADI IDC Staff Instructor Manual is required.
You should bring a swimsuit and reef-safe sunscreen, along with writing materials and a notebook, tablet, or laptop.
PADI registration documents and fees are required and can be completed by credit card.
Some equipment may be rented, while certain items may need to be personally prepared.
What Can You Do After Completion?
You will be officially qualified to assist and evaluate within the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC).
You may directly mentor instructor candidates and participate in assessments and guidance.
You will be authorized to independently conduct the Assistant Instructor (AI) course.
This certification marks a critical milestone on the path to PADI Master Instructor and ultimately PADI Course Director.
