Technical Diving Certification Course

PADI Tec 50 & Tec 50 Trimix

The PADI Tec 50 and Tec 50 Trimix Courses represent the highest level within the PADI technical diving pathway.
These programs train divers to conduct full technical dives to depths of up to 50 meters, using multi-stage decompression and multiple decompression gases with confidence and precision.

With the Trimix option, divers learn to reduce nitrogen narcosis at depth, allowing for safer, clearer, and more efficient deep technical dives.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is designed for divers who hold a Tec 45 or Tec 45 Trimix certification.

Applicants must have a minimum of 100 logged dives, including 20 Enriched Air (EANx) dives, 15 dives deeper than 30 meters, and 10 decompression dives.

Participants must be healthy adults aged 18 or older.

Course Duration

The course is conducted over four training days.

Training includes theory sessions, confined-water training, and open-water technical dives.

Tec 45 and Tec 50 can be taken together to save both time and training costs.

What Will You Learn?

Tec 50 Core Training

You will learn how to plan and execute multi-stage decompression dives to a maximum depth of 50 meters.

Training covers decompression protocols using two or more decompression gases, including Enriched Air and 100% oxygen.

You will refine advanced technical equipment handling, emergency problem management, and team diving skills.

The course emphasizes developing independence and leadership as a technical diver.

Tec 50 Trimix Additional Training

The Trimix option focuses on the advanced application of Trimix gases composed of oxygen, nitrogen, and helium.

You will learn how to configure various Trimix blends and calculate maximum operating depths (MODs).

Training includes additional decompression strategies and equipment configurations specific to Trimix diving.

You will also develop the ability to maintain clear judgment and situational awareness at extreme depths.

What Do You Need to Bring?

A full technical diving configuration is required, including twin cylinders, at least two decompression cylinders, and appropriate decompression regulators.

Essential equipment includes a dive computer, timer, underwater slate, and surface marker buoy (SMB).

You must bring your logbook, medical clearance, and Tec 45 or Trimix certification.

A Trimix analyzer is required for the Trimix option.

Swimsuit and reef-safe sunscreen are also required.

Some equipment is available for rental, but certain items must be personally owned.

What Can You Do After Completion?

After completing Tec 50, you are qualified to conduct multi-stage decompression dives to 50 meters.

You can plan and execute dives using two or more high-oxygen decompression gases.

Graduates may progress to Tec Trimix courses or CCR (Closed Circuit Rebreather) training.

This level provides full independence in complex technical diving environments.

After completing Tec 50 Trimix, you are qualified to conduct multi-stage decompression dives using Trimix.

You will be able to minimize nitrogen narcosis and maintain clear thinking at depth.

Graduates are eligible to advance to the Tec Trimix 65 Course.

This course represents the transition to elite-level technical and Trimix diving, where precision, discipline, and mastery come together.
